  1. not much but maybe the 30-30 by a flash second but by hunting effectiveness a 30-30 beats by a longshot at close range that is at long range the 270 because past 200 yards 30-30 bullets start to drop if i had to pick from the two i would pick the 270 because where i hunt i hunt in semi open fields so the 270 would be my right hand gun but if i were brush hunting i would pick the 30-30

  2. Not very much.* It would be difficult to feel much difference.*

  3. The .270 will kick considerably more, given the higher velocities within the same bullet weight.

  4. The weight of the rifle is a large factor in felt recoil, the heaver the gun the less felt recoil.

    The 30-30 kicks with 10 to 11 pounds of recoil, the 270 has about 16 to 18, so the 270 kicks a bit more.

    Here is a chart of recoil;

    You will note that the 270 has recoil similar to the 30-06.
