  1. (1a)The usual access points for IV injection are where ever the best vein is.  It is all about getting the needle in but most patients have an IV in there lower arm.  Nurses usually start more distal then go more proximal to the body.  This is because if you start in the upper arm and blow a vein then you can not go below that point for another try.
