Parma and Bologna, they are close to each other.  Exceptional food, reasonable prices, and easy to get to.  Fly into Milan and rent a car.  Ask for directions to the A1 south to Parma.  That's about a 2-hour drive.  The A1 links Milano & Roma.  Parma is along the A1.  You can also take the train, but why?
