Question:

Recommend a good home audio subwoofer.

I'm looking to get a new subwoofer for my home theater. I'd like it to fill a 11'x20'x8' space with full clean bass. I don't want to spend a fortune, but anything under $600 would be considered.

Thanks

  1. I would highly recommend the entry level SVS or Hsu subwoofers.  They are internet brand only, but the entry level subs bought here rival any sub you could buy in a store.  In fact I would put a simple 600.00 SVS NSD 12 up against a sub costing thousands in stores.

  3. Matthew B is right about HSU and SVS.  I thought I would add a third option, Epik.  They are another internet only brand but that is the best way to get a good deal.  I personally own an Epik sub and they are amazing.

  4. Look at the Definitive Technology Supercube III.  It looks small but it provides nice clean bass.  If you can afford something more you can get the Supercube II or I.  If you are going all out then look at Sunfire, JL audio (2000+ watts cannot be wrong!!!), or the high end Definitive Technology Supercube Reference or Trinity.
