Recommend an amp for my sub?

I have a Rockford Fosgate P3L-S12 12" shallow subwoofer (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Amplifiers/GMSeries/GM-5300T), 4 gauge wiring kit and Stinger 1 farad capacitor connected to it. It's not enough bass, and I'm thinking the problem is the amplifier.

What amp should I get to replace it?

And how do I connect it without frying myself? (how do I disable my capacitor)

  1. Well firstly you need to disconnect the fuse under your hood. That being taken out removes all electrical flow from the battery to whatever its connected to. I think you should get a monoblock amplifier that pumps this subwoofer at 500w RMS. It can take 400w, but Rockford Fosgate makes decent subs. This amp would be perfect: Kenwood KAC-9103D. 500w RMS at 4 ohms with true power and your subwoofer will pump trust me.
