Recommend me a few bands?

Question

Need really good bands not underground bands with 3 songs that are never going to go anywhere... What do I like? No screaming... absolutely despise Slipknot... I love a lot of old stuff but i'm looking for newer bands too. My favorite bands include like Coheed, Iron Maiden, The Used, Van Halen, Black Tide, The Sword, etc.

Definitely try Within Temptation and Nightwish, thought the latter is for hardcore metal fans.

Also, try Kamelot, very nice sound (Ghost Opera and The Haunting)

Hmmm... Amorphis do scream sometimes, but try the following songs and you should be ok: I of Crimson Blood, House of Sleep, Under a Soil and Black Stone,Silent Waters, Enigma, the Way... I promise you won't get any permanant brain damage, but just to be safe, try the first three first and see if you like them.

I'm going to recommend a few that might stretch your horizons a bit, but are all very good bands.

Evanescence

Nightwish

Within Temptation (Their earlier work has growling, look for songs off of their albums Mother Earth, The Silent Force and The Heart of Everything.)

Lacuna Coil

And, of course, some good classical bands would be Heart and Kansas, assuming you don't already listen to those.
