Recommend some screamo/metal bands that are safe to listen to?

something like underoath, silverstein, norma jean, stryper, devil wears prada, as I lay dying. It doesn't need to be christian just a metal band that doesn't sing about some devil c**p..

I'm sorry but I don't understand why so many kids on here, don't want to listen to metal bands that "swear" or sing about "devil c**p", I mean when I was 12-13 I was so passionate about getting into metal I could've cared less if they're lyrics were satanic or filled with foul language.  If you're gonna get into metal you need to be more open-minded, because the basis of heavy metal deals with the dark side of life and isn't supposed to be safe.  When I was about 14, I wanted to buy an album by this band that all my heroes talked about in all their interviews about who influenced them, that band was Venom.  As I got close to the V section of the rock/pop area, my hands started to sweat, because all I heard was how evil and brutal Venom was, but I was incredibly exilerated, and it ended up being one of the best decisions i've ever made.

So my point is this, give the darker stuff a chance, a "real" chance, before you knock it.

u should look into All That Remains. they r clean and really good. comparable to As I lay Dying. listen to The Weak Willed and u will be sold on that band. its hardcore

But really now, you got to learn to tolerate c**p and take the good with the bad.

i would try all that remains, theys pretty good. also killswitch engage, who sound similar to both all that rmains and -sorta- as i lay dying.

you might also like Architect. They don;t sing at all, but i like them a lot. try their song "Collapse this War Engine." its anti-war, like me.

also Opeth isnt quite screamo, but they write amazing music, and i feel safe calling them the definition of music.
