Recommendable cruising holidays in Europe ??

Question

I'm reaching 40 soon, and am planning to go cruising on my own to allow myself thinking about my future.....Looking for a good cruising company which has many plans & offers.....The departure port would be preferably from somewhere in UK. If you have an experience of beautiful cruising holiday before, could you tell me how it was? Another thing is, is it strange thing to go cruising on my own?(I'm single)

when you say cruising do you mean on a boat or attracting attention from men with large moustaches.
