Question:

Recommendation For Target Practice Shot Gun?

So, I have been going shooting with my friends for some time, and I finally want to get myself a shot gun strictly for clay pigeon shooting.

I need a recommendation for a reasonably-priced pump-shotgun (and I would be buying it new, not used), one which would hold up well over a lot of use, and be able to use inexpensive ammunition.

Any good recommendation or information will immediately get best answer.

  1. the remington 870 express, use a 8 or 9 shot, get the 20g as it has less recoil than the 12g. You can get the 870 for around 300 at academy sports. you can also look at the mossberg 500 which will run you around 250 same place. The Mossberg and Remington both are used by the military and law enforcement. The Remington is the better of the two, just cost a little more, but worth it. Been around longer and has a better reputation.

  2. Any Pump or Slide action shotgun will handle nearly all ammo well. I'd recommend you stick with The big three, Remington, Mossberg and Winchester.

Now, I'm not really sure how much you are willing to spend, but a Remington 870 is one of the most popular shotguns of all time. There are a plethora of different options, Including camouflage  finishes, Super-Magnum 3.5" shell capability, etc.

Interchangeable chokes are a clay shooters friend!

  3. any Remington is good...

  4. id get the remington 870 12ga. just in case u decide to go hunting because theres a lot of different types of ammo for you to buy that can take out a wide range of animals. a 20 ga. would be good too
