Recommendation for Hotel in Nassau?

I am going to the U.S. embassy in Nassau & I want some good suggestions for a hotel to stay at for up to 4 days. The closer the better I guess & one that is close to good attractions to fully enjoy the island while I am there.

Atlantis is nice and very touristy and very expensive and so it depends on what type of vacay you want. I recommend the Sheraton.  It's beautiful, not as expensive, recently renovated and you don't get stuck on the other side of the bridge at night. And it's connected to other hotels so you can use multiple pools, restaurants and beaches.

If you're coming to sightsee - stay at Atlantis.  It's on Paradise Island which is across the bridge from Nassau.  If you're trip is more business and pleasure, stay at the British Colonial Hilton - its a very short walk to downtown Nassau and the U.S. embassy.  Both are nice properties, just very different location.

For you purposes the British Colonel Hilton is your best bet, its only about a half block from the embassy.

The British Colonial Hilton is 1/2 block away from the embassy.  It's located on the harbour and steps away from everything that you may need.  All tours pick up at the nearby dock.
