Recommendation for cross country running shoes?

this's my 2nd year doing cross country, and i haven;t found shoes that really fit me. I went to shoe store and ask for help, but really they don;t help that much. I'm trying to find shoes train for racing. do any body have a good experience with cross country shoes? are the shoes the lighter the better?

i was looking for some new ones last week and decided on NIKE Shox. They were reasonably priced at only $105.99. I have used them every day this week, at least 8 miles a day. They have AMAZING side and heel support. Also they are somewhat meshy so running through water and mud is easier. Overall I would say this is your best shot. 4.5/5

The lighter is not always the better, only in certain cases for certain people, I would suggest the nike air zoom collection, lots of good shoes there, I personally wear the air zoom skylons though they are old they are lightweight and very comfortable, if you have any personal trainers you can talk to try to get them to see how you run and figure what shoe would be right.

Right now, the most popular shoe for XC runners on the market right now are the Nike XC Forevers.

The forevers came out with "new" colors, but are $40 more than the orginal colors. If you want to pay a little extra to be a little flashy than go ahead, but if not I recommend the $50 Forevers.

Most of the kids on my team wear them.
