  1. there is lot to see, get a tourist guide book

  2. I went to Barcelona in the Easter holidays and it's really nice there. If the weather is good, visil park guell; it's really beautiful and there is that big lizard thing that's always on guidbooks. It's worth seeing if you go there. Also, there is the Sagrada Familia. it's a a big cathedral in the process of being built. It's not particuklarly exciting, but it's worth a look. What we did when we were there was we took a bike tour (you don't need to take a bike, you cna hire them) and the shop the bike tours are run from is a little one by the rue de la costa del sol. The bike tours are really good and you stop for a drink haflway through. If you're into football you can visit Camp Nou, which is nearby and you can walks around and snoop at all the stuff, plus there's a little footbal museum there.

You can go up the big colum thing in a lift, but there is a large queue.

There are loads of nice restuarants down by the seafront, but there's a alos a nice, reasonably priced place inh a little square with a church and a market in, and on a little street going off there is a place with bright orange chairs (you can't miss it really. the deco is a bit naff but the food is really good and the service is quick).

The best way to get to places like Park Guell is there Metro, but the guys in the ticket booths didn't seem to speak any english.

Oh and also, watch out because when we were in barcelona, we had out bag stolen, which sort of ruined the trip, so don't carry your valuables in a shoulder bag or a backpack and also keep an eye on your bag when you sit down to eat because people will take bags of the backs of your chair if you hang them there (that's what happened to us and several other people we met at the police station).

But Barcelona's lovely, it's all beautiful and old. Have a great trip!

    =D

  3. See http://www.spain4uk.co.uk/places/barcelo... the place is very easy to get around

  4. the nou camp! go on the open top bus tour and see what you fancy from there. i don't think there is any one thing to see. go explore it all!

  5. I lived there for 4 years.

    Great city !

It depends what you want to do.

Add some details about what kind of budget you have, what kind of places you want to visit, what kind of music you like, what kind of food you like, and all that, and I'll give you all the best addresses !

    Edit:

    OK, markets.

If you mean food markets, you have to check out la "boqueria" market half way down "las ramblas" on the right hand side if you are heading towards the port. Can't miss the entrance it's huge.

If you mean clothes markets, that's a hard one, but there is a kind of indoor clothes market, a kind of funky shopping centre in the street "portaferrisa" (spelling?) which is perpendicular to "las ramblas", it meets las ramblas on the left if you are heading towards the port, just before you get to the boqueria i mentioned before. The shopping place in question is easy to spot, as it has a large camel in the door way...!

For shopping in general, the street Portaferrisa is full of small funky clothes shops and leads towards another street called "Portel de l'angel" which has all the bigger shops like Zara, Mango and all that.

The trendiest of trendy nightclubs is called La Terrrazza, but as it's an open air club, I'm not sure if it'll still be open in October....

Here is the site anyway,  http://www.laterrrazza.com/

Otherwise, you can check out Discotheque, an indoor club, just as cool as la terrrazza, but as it's indoors, it's less exotic !

Both are in the same place, Poble Espagnol, which is near to Plaza espana. You can easily get there in a taxi from the centre, for a few Euros, or get the metro to Plaza espana and ask for directions from there.

As far as restaurants are concerned, the choice is enormous.

Near the port you find loads of Tapas bars (the Basque ones are the best) and find the church "santa maria del mar" (near the port) on a map and you'll be in an area called "el borne" which is also full of good restaurants.

The zones I've mentioned ; Las ramblas, Portel de l'angel and el Borne and the port are all very close, and form a kind of square.

Everything in this square is cool to visit for shopping, going out drinking and eating. You'll want to spend most of your time there i would imagine.

One word of warning - Al those small streets are a bit deserted at night, and prone to pickpockets and bag snatchers. I don't mean to alarm you, but you must be careful. Try going out at night with no handbag, and you'll be ok. Be careful in restaurants as well, as they've been known to snatch bags off the backs of chairs.

There is no violence in the city, and it feels very safe, but handbags are a big NO NO, ok? If you must carry one, make sure it goes across one shoulder and under the other arm, so it can't be taken, and you'll be fine.

    HAVE FUN !

  6. just to many to mention have a great time ,////////////////

  7. There is a fresh food market half way down the ramblas on the right, strawberries as big as apples ! onions like melons ! its amazing. Go on a tour open top bus, hop on and off loads to see, must go gothic cathdrals, massive & ornate. The nu camp footy stadium if ur into footy. A boat trip. You wont see that much if your only there a week end. Bars are expensive, on the ramblas, drinks outdoors very expensive (about £9 a large lager) There is loads of stuff everywhere and a beach if u want it.
