Question:

Recommendations to get rid of the speeding ticket in California.?

Early this week I got my first speeding ticket in Sunnyvale California. I was at 38 miles/hr in 25 miles/hr area.

I’m not sure if I should contest and pledge guilty or I should just pay the fine and attend driving school.

Apart from following the speed limits, any advice would be appreciated :)

Thanks,

PS: I was going for doctor’s appointment (have copay receipt to prove) but not sure it will help in contesting.

  1. 1. take the driving class if they allow you to.

    2. stop speeding, it as simple as that.

  2. You could get a lawyer's advice on this.

Speeding is the number one reason for male crashes.

Make sure you are able to control your vehicle at all times.

Know the limits of the laws of physics on your vehicle.

Know the mechanical condition of your vehicle.

Know that you have good tires, proper air pressure, etc.

In short, don't speed. Most people do speeds beyond the posted limits, but if you keep it down to about 5 mph over the limit, you probably won't be stopped. You may get a radar camera ticket though.
