Question:

Recommended Dinner Recipe that contains plums?

Hey everyone. Both my brothers are out at university and won't be home until late so I thought I'd be nice and cook dinner. Do you know any simple, healthy but yummy recipes that you could recommend? It must not have pork in it because my brother is alergic. I also have some canned plums that i would like to use.

    I don't know where to find anything about canned plum recipes though.

  2. Plum Cobbler, baked chicken or hamburger steaks n baked potatoes.

    Ingredients

    1 can Plums, (pitted and chopped), reserve syrup

    1/2 cup sugar

    1/4 cup butter or shortening

    1 egg

    1 1/2 cup flour

    1/2 teaspoon baking soda

    1 teaspoon baking powder

    3/4 teaspoon salt

    1/2 cup milk

    Instructions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

    Place pitted, chopped plums, with the syrup, in bottom of a 9 inch square pan.

    Cream together sugar and butter. Add egg. Combine dry ingredients and slowly add to mixture alternating with the milk. Spoon the mixture over the top and bake for 35 minutes or until lightly browned.

    Easy Baked chicken recipe with step by step photos:

    3 to 4 lb chicken, cut into 8 parts (2 b*****s, 2 thighs, 2 legs, 2 wings) excluding the back

    margarine or olive oil

    Salt and freshly ground pepper

    1/2 cup of chicken stock* or white wine for the gravy (optional)

    Or Easy Hamburger steaks:

    1 lb. ground beef

    1 sm. onion

    1 tbsp. catsup

    2 slices toast or oatmeal

    1/2 tsp. salt

    1 tsp. black pepper

    1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

    Soften toast with water. Mix with other ingredients. Add beef to mixture. Place in frying pan with 1 tablespoon cooking oil. Brown on both sides; remove from pan. Place in baking dish. Slice small onion over meat.

    BROWN GRAVY:

    3 tbsp. flour

    2 c. water

    2 tbsp. catsup

    Salt to taste

    1/2 tsp. black pepper

    Stir flour in pan meat was cooked in. Stir until brown. Add water, catsup, black pepper. When gravy thickens, pour over meat. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
