Recommended Operating System?

I would like to use my computer for work and also for play on my off time.Whats your opinion and why ?

Ubuntu, its just as easy to use as Windows or OS X, and less support, haha you get better support with Linux than Microsoft could ever dream of. You have countless forums and IRC channels you can visit with people that actually know what they are talking about, not just reading it off of a computer screen.

So, I recommend ether Ubuntu (Linux) or Mac OS X but if you want to get OS X legally you need to buy a Mac. But you could give the OSx86 project a shot if you like.

Windows XP/Vista should work just fine. (I hate Linux)

Microsoft for what you describe (Office, Play, etc)

MAC if your going to use it for Sound or Video editing/creating

LINUX if you want open source software or know a lot about computers and feel comfortable with less support.

Hey! If you really don't know what an operating system is. Then i prefer any Microsoft Windows XP as you can play and do work both smoothly.

If you are good learner and really want to mess around with an operating systems then prefer any Linux flavors like (Ubuntu, Fedora)
