Recommended hotels for skiing at Angel Fire, NM?

I am planning a skiing trip to Angel Fire, NM and am looking for hotel recommendations nearby. We'll be driving so I'll have a car, but I'd like to stay as close to the resort as possible. Also, I'd appreciate any feedback from anyone who's stayed at the hotels on the resort property.

I've never stayed at Angel Fire, but I have to give a shout out for the St.James Hotel in nearby Cimarron. Even if you are just passing through town, it's worth stopping in. The hotel has been featured on "Unsolved Mysteries" or a show like that due to the high amount of paranormal activity that goes on in the hotel. There are still bullet holes in the ceiling from gunfights and rowdy cowboys dating back to the 1890s.

I've stayed there on a few occasions and the only thing I could attribute any visions to was pitchers of Shiner Bock and lots of Jack Daniels at the bar.

The food is good and if you can't afford the cost of a room in the main hotel (or you don't want to deal with the spooks and ghosts) you can get a less expensive room in the non-haunted annex section. I've stayed in both sections. A bed is a bed in my opinion.
