  1. For starters i'd go for a tippmann 98 custom, they are incredibly durable, very upgradeable, and are great for begginers. The only cons of the 98 custom are the weight (some people say they are too heavy, but its not a huge deal...) and the stock accuracy isnt amazing, but no stock barrel is good anyways. The 98 custom is generally a woodsball gun but you can sink 60 bucks into it to make it shoot as fast as most speedball courses allow. Since the stock barrel on the 98 isnt very great, i would suggest you buy a new one, a J&J ceramic barrel is pinpoint accurate and only 40 bucks.

  2. If you want to spend closer to $500 i would recommend the icd promaster. I own a promaster and it has not presented ANY problems on the field. It is lightweight, very fast, and looks d**n s**y haha

on actionvillage.com it now costs around $180 and i bought mine 2 years ago for $360 so the price has plummeted. But with an electric marker like that you will need a low pressure hpa tank and a fast loader. For the tank i would recommend crossfire 68/4500 because it is lighweight and holds a great amount of air. As for a loader i own a halo b. It runs great, feeds fast, and isnt complicated, press the button before a game, press it again when your done. end of story. I dont know the prices for the halo and the tank are now but im sure they have dropped as well. The only problems i have ever had with this gun were when i accidentaly broke one microswitch off theboard that makes it go full auto. No big deal right? ICD shipped me a brand new board for my gun to replace the old one. about $50 value. :D

and again i can only guess on price, but i bought all my gear from actionvillage.com and theyre usually lower priced than anyone else

oh and if you want to spend closer to $200 i would recommend the spyder pilot. It is inexpensive at close to $100, runs on Co2, and shoots amazing. You would definetly want to buy an electric loader for it though because without one it would load slower than it would shoot, chopping balls. And we dont want chopped balls now do we? haha

  3. Well, for one $500 is a very good budget for today seeing as how you can get a really good one, but you should upgrade everything else first!

If your using C02 as a propellant upgrade to an HPA tank! i would recommend a 49.99 tank you can get from just about everywhere i will give you some places to shop for in the Source area!

Afer or if you already use HPA and not C02 upgrade your mask! for your Mid-Grade style of play, i would recommend the V-force Profiler! its a really great little mask for about $20-$40.

Ok so you have a HPA tank and a Good solid mask, now consider an electric hopper! not a gravity one, such as a Velocity, Halo ect, get one that can feed at least 20 bps the price range is completely screwed up so just do your research!

NOW as a gun upgrade i would get a Dangerous Power G3, but if you have a $250 budget i would get the PMR or a $350 a Invert Mini $200 and get a SLG anything lower then $200 is not with it seeing as how you have a gun.

So do research on any paintball stuff youo plan on buying at Pbreview.com! and for tips on paintball go to youtube.com/user/paintballtechpb Mike is a really cool guy and his videos will help you a lot!

Good luck on the paintball field! Alohaaaaaa!!
