“Reconsider Your Spirit” – Haye intimidates Harrison before their much awaited clash
Just a day before the big fight is going to be held at the Men Arena, Manchester on Saturday; David Haye has intimidated Audley Harrison to reconsider his fighting spirit ahead of the anticipated clash.
In the much awaited fierce battle, Haye would be defending his WBA heavyweight title against Harrison. This is only the third time two Britons would grapple for a world heavyweight crown. While sharing his feeling about the tomorrow’s match, Haye said: “I
have heard he wants to knock me out early, which is tremendous, it gives me a warm feeling; because I like to fight and he doesn’t like to fight as much as I do.”
When the former friends and fellow Londoners met for a final news conference, the title holder intimidated the rival by saying that he was looking forward to going on war. In response to which 39-year-old Harrison claimed to depict the version of him that
won gold medal at Olympic 2000 which, according to him, would be enough to beat Haye.
Holding 27 wins out of 31 fights, Audley Harrison had beaten Danny Williams to win his battle at the Olympics. While talking to the media personnel he was of the view: “David thinks he is going to walk through me and this is going to be some sort of public
execution, but this is going to be the fight of life.”
He further claimed that David Haye was not going to break his spirit. He was not going to knock him out. He could not take him out when they sparred together years back. He revealed that he had already sparred with David too many times to know that. “It
is going to be tough but ultimately I will prevail, it is my destiny” Harrison concluded.
Giving his remarks about the grand battle, David Haye, who has won 24 out of 25 fights in his career, said: “Audley talks about his ‘warrior spirit’ and we saw it against Michael Sprott in his last fight where Harrison could hardly win by knocking out the
opponent.”
Defending his title for the second time which he had won from Nikolay Valuev, the Russian giant boxer last November, Haye told the reporters that he believed Harrison was scared as he could hear his heart beat through his jacket throughout the conference.
