i have a 6 year old nanday conure named ozzie. he was a neglected bird and his previous owner broke his bottom beak when he was very young. i have almost had him for a year and it kills me to see his beak like this ---his bottom beak grows to the left and will grow into his head unless i trim it every month--- well i was away for 6 weeks visiting my bff and so my parents stayed in my house and took care of him. they have trimmed his beak before but while they were doing it, it split on the bottom. it looks soooo painfull && in another year it could possably fall off. so back to my question.

i want to have his beak reconstructed so he can eat normally and what not. so i was wondering how much something like this would cost. it doesnt have to be exactly how much. just an estimation. if you have a helpfull site please give me the link. that you soooo much!

  1. It looks to me like he had been a breeder before, and the previous owner ripped his lower mandible because he was aggressive towards his mate (a not-so-uncommon practice amongst money-minded parrot breeders). Visit http://www.aav.org to find the nearest avian vet, they'll find the best solution for it. And keep doing your research and take good care of him; you're doing a very noble job by taking in an abused bird -- many people just go for the looks.
