Question:

Record TV shows and/or VCR onto a DVD-R?

I wanted to know the best way to get:

- shows on my satellite receiver recorded with DVR( TiVo like device)

- vcr tapes (VCR is installed directly into the tv)

onto a DVD disk?

Like what cables I would need, etc? All I have is a dvd burner.

They're just some home movies, and shows which aren't on DVD to buy(won't be any time soon) and I need to clear out some space on the DVR, so DVD would be the best transfer.

Thanks for any suggestions :)

  1. One of my tivo outlets goes into my DVD recorder so I can empty the tivo of some shows I don't get around to watching but are taking up space.  You can also run the vcr to the dvd input as well.  The only limit will be how many inputs you have on the dvd recorder.

The cables you use will be dictated by the component inlets and outlets.  I'd guess red/white/yellow components will work.
