Question:

Record from camera to vcr?

I have a Panasonic Palmcorder Palmsight. (yes, I know-old).

I want to do a little detective work and see exactly what my man is doing while I'm at work.

The recording time of the tapes for the camcorder are only two hours, and of course I need like a 6 to 8 hour range. I want to know if I can plug the camcorder into my vcr and record straight to a vhs to get more record time. I am would think that this is possible, but their is nothing about it in the directions. The only thing close to it is copying over what is already recorded.

Thank you for your help!!!!

  1. yes the VCR will accept the AV out from an old camera. however you will need an AC adaptor for the camera, because the battery will only run about 2 hours max. Some cameras shut down after a period of not running tape. You need to experiment a little to see what happens, but it sounds like you are on the right track.

  2. To further what that other dude said, some cameras will automatically shut down if your not recording directly onto the camera, but I have discoverd that if you do not have a tape in the camcorder it should stay on as long as the power will allow...basically make sure you don't have a tape in the camcorder when you do this.

  3. hire a pi. it might be cheaper!
