Recording/Downloading youtube videos? Please help me!?

I want to download videos from youtube to my H drive.. so I can make like montages and stuff for youtube. I downloaded the FLV downloader thing but i uninstalled it because it was too confusing, if you can give me directions to use it, then i can re download it.. but my question is what do you recommend to do this? Also it needs to be free.
