Recording a creative VHS video from a video camera?

Alright guys, here is the thing. I'm a very creative person, and I'm going on a cruise. I bought a video camera, and I plan to record everything while on the ship.

As soon as I'm back, I plan to make several VHS copies and give it to some of my family/friends. I wanna make a very "cute video", I want to add music, and colors, and make it nice. Is there anything you suggest? (maybe a software, or something that I could make my VHS tapes even better??

Thank you!

  1. You'll need to commit some resources to edit your VHS movies.  First a capture card to load the video into your computer.  You'll also need editing software to cut unwanted footage and add your music tracks.

I use a Matrox RT 2500 capture card and the included Adobe Premiere 6.5 software.  You can see the results here.  Be advised, VHS won't give you very good resolution.  It will get the job done though.  Good luck!
