Right i have a simple jack in microphone which is connected to the webcam also, it works on thel qaptop downstairs, i have 3 pink jack slots on my pc, 2 in the back (ones for a seperate sound card (24 bit live to be precise) and the other i dont know) No idea where the front one goes either, but ill plug it in and go to control panel, sounds, properties or whatever then the audio tab and it says Default divice = no recording device. Why? Shouldent windows have a default one to go through anyway? It is a self built pc could this be the probolem? (The sound card isnt installed as i uninstalled it as everytime i took the mute microphone off (it dosent have an apply button) close it it would go back to muting it?

  1. Cant understand this question, you say the sould card is uninstalled

  2. I don't get how you have 3 pink jack sockets. you should have green [speakers] red [microphone] blue [line in].

If the sound system is integrated with the board why do you need a seperate sound card? Also a mic does not plug into a webcam. The whole question's details are completely confusing.
