Recording from dish network DVR to DVD or VHS Help?

I am trying to record some programing from our dish DVR to either DVD or VHS...any help would be appreciated.

  1. Place the recorder in between the dvr and tv, do not record on vcr is primitive. Set the dvd writer to channel 3 and if it does not have a tuner,set dvd out put to tv to see the recording going on.Remember the dvd must be also a writer. So...the order

Be sure that your vhs is connected to your tv output.  Then, as you play the dvr recording, (be sure that your output connection to your vhs is on the same channel you are playing your dvr on) press "record" on your vhs.  I hope i'm not missing a couple steps, but it's not too difficult.  Ha.  I used to work for directv.

  3. i cannot high speed dub from DVR to DVD-r.  but this works for me...Using the coax out of the DVR to the VHS cable in.  switch my receiver to DVD input, begin the recording and then start the recorder.  all screen content is copied to DVD/VHS.
