Question:

Recording on DirectTV DVR?

I have a DirectTV DVR. It allows 2 channels to record at the same time as long as you are watching one of the channels. All of a sudden, it will only record 1 channel and you must be watching that channel. The disc not full. What gives?

  1. I thought it was always like that? Cause we recently switched to direct tv, and you can only record a show unless your watching it.

  2. For the poster above, In order to watch one channel and record another you must have 2 lines run from the splitter into your DVR.

To answer your question it sounds like you are not getting a signal through one of the lines therefore only 1 tuner is working right now.  Check your 2 cable connections at the box, then follow it to the splitter and make they are tight there.  Then you can also check the 2 connections at the dish.  If none of this works then you may have a bad LNB and a service call is in order.
