Recording programmes from TV on DVD-R?

Question

I've just got a box of DVD-R discs to record programmes from the TV with.

How do I go about recording programmes from the TV? Do I need to link up my PC & DVD....or link up my TV....I'm so confused as to what to do.

If anybody could tell me how to do this, that would be great.

Do you have a DVD recorder, or just a DVD player?

You can use your PC as an output to your TV screen, but it's complex and fiddly to try to get your PC to record off your TV screen.

DVD recording is primarily used with DVD recorders, not PC's.
