Recording with a mic

Question

Hello - I'm trying to record using a condenser mic with phantom power. I've got the front panel switches turned to "mic" and the rear panel phantom power on, input as analog and speakers off, but all I can record is a high pitched hum. Any help appreciated. Linda [e-mail]
