The vehicle is about twenty feet from a junction and spreads across the whole frontage of the driver's semi and a little way over both his neighbours' fronts. He also has three private vehicles plus at least two other cars which are regular visitors. I have a new car which I have to park half on the pavement, which I presume is also illegal, to prevent any further damage. I have spoken to a police officer acquaintance who says that unless it causes an accident there isn't much we can do. Surely this can't be right. The road is a through road which carries quite a lot of fast, traffic including joy riders and police cars chasing them, ambulances and fire engines.

  1. Unfortunately, as long as the vehicles are insured, taxed and parked legally, there is nothing you can do.

If your car is parked on the pavement and is hit by another car, then you could be charged with dangerous paring.

I know this doesn't sound fair, but it's the law.

I had the same problem with neighbours cars.

I built a drive in my front garden.

  2. The vehicle will have an Operators Licence a condition of which is that it should be parked at a named operating centre.....take a photo and send it to your local Traffic commissioners. who are part of the Dept. of Transport.
