Question:

Recurring Dream About my Deceased Dog?

My little 18 month old dog was run over and killed in January 2008. She was my ray of sunshine.

Over the last week I am having recurring dreams of her standing by the door with a man (maybe my husband as he was with her when she was killed).

In the dream she is still very injured although standing up and looking at me.

It wakes me up and I have trouble going back to sleep as I am then really tearful, in fact I cannot control my emotions as it is still so painful without her in my life.

Does anyone know what these dreams mean?

  1. It just means that you miss her a lot and the experience of loosing her has wounded you. I would suggest to get another pet, not necessarily a dog, but a hamster, rabbit, cat, anything that fills that emptiness. Your puppy is not replaceable but there are thousands of other animals that need a home.

Adopt a pet that makes you feel good about yourself, probably a mistreated one? I think you have feelings of guilt because you couldn't do anything for your sunshine, but think that she's resting now with no pain.

I dream about my dog once in a while, and it's been more than 10 years since he died.

  2. she is saying to you, that she may not be here on earth, but she is here with you in spirit.and the wounds you see are your pain u feel for her since she is gone.i have the same dream,of my two wolves that have passed but my male was in alot of pain, but where they are, they are not hurting, but what yousee is your pain, because your still hurting so much inside due to her lose.thats what i think it means and its what i have been told my someone who had answerd my qeustion like this, and i wanted to tell you, about the answer i have gotten, hope this helps.but to help to easy you hurting try to get another animal, try not to get one that looks like her,or your pain wont heal, every time you look at her and or him you will see her in them eyes.try a cat, they help.
