Recurring or familiar dream element - your interpretation?

I seem to be either continuing to have dreams regarding forgotten dogs in the backyard of the house i grew up in..or have merely experienced a new dream (involving those same thngs) that have a familiar tone to them.

in this familiar dream i went into the backyard for whatever reason and ran into one of the dogs which seemed to be starving.. in the dream i recalled having ignored the dog before (not sure if that memory was linked to previous dreams or was only linked to this particular dream, for whatever reason) but this time i decided to keep it company.. playing with it, feeding it, and sort of training it, until i grew closer to it that it became a companion of mine..i think at this point i woke up...

  1. It's telling you that there is a problem in your life that you have been ignoring.  Essentially it is telling you to stop ignoring it and to address and deal with the problem rather than continuing to turn away from it.  The fact that you woke up after your dream's resolution is probably indicative that it was the end of some sort of unfinished business.  I'd say search through your mind for any sort of problem you've been having and pushing to the back.  When you find out what it is confront it rather than ignoring it further and it will probably put an end to this dream.  If that doesn't work, go out back and feed the d**n dogs.

Edit: The fact that it's starving dogs probably doesn't really mean anything - it's probably just a personal preference.  Perhaps you had a dog previously in your life that you neglected somewhat (not to the point of starvation) but didn't exactly give it the attention it deserved.  What I'm trying to say is that the symbolism is probably something you impose on the dream, rather than anything that can be accurately identified or analyzed.

  2. backyard has to do with your past.  something you have ignored, and

    needed to deal with?
