Recurve bow arrow spines?

I just bought a Browning Cobra recurve 50" and 54#, I was wondering what spine arrows i should shoot if i'm shooting aluminum and also is it possible to shoot carbon arrows from a recurve as long as they have feathers, also any comments on the quality of the bow would be appreciated, thanks.

Go to www.eastonarchery.com, they have an online spine selector for their shafts.  Punch in the cam type, in your case select recurve, punch in the draw weight, this is the weight of the bow at your draw length, not the marked weight(54#).  It might be the case if you draw 28", but if not then the marked weight will be different than your actual draw weight.  Then select the draw length.

The draw length is measured at full draw, from the nock groove to the back of the bow, that is the side of the bow that is facing the target.

Like dumdum said, you can shoot carbon arrows from recurves, actually that is what I do.  You can shoot them with feathers, vanes or what have you.  They will make the bow a bit louder as they have less mass.

I can't say because you left out your draw length, which is one of the factors that determine arrow spine- the other is the draw weight of the bow- you need to look at the arrow charts to get the proper arrow- spine weight is very critical on the recurves and long bows- my guess would be 2213 in aluminum- and it wont hurt a thing to shoot carbon arrows in it.

Your bow is a fine one to have!
