Recurve or Longbow?

I am 16 and im in love with the outdoors, I have killed many deer, and kind of want to go traditional. which is the better shooting bow, which is smoother, i like the looks of both longbow and the recurve, and it will probably be a martin.

The advantage of the recurve is that it is shorter than a longbow of the same draw weight - which is advantageous when hunting because the shorter bow is less likely to snag on a tree branch, etc.
