Question:

Recycle Old Inkjet Cartridges ... WHERE?

by  |  earlier

Hi,

I've over 20 Epson / clone inkjet cartridges, which I'm told can be recycled, and hopefully raise a few bob for charities.

Does anyone know if these can be recycled, and what I should do with them? Or is it just another one of the Green lobby urban myths?

I don't want any money for them, just somewhere to get rid of them other than my local landfill.

Any ideas?

  1. You can put them in your green recycle box.

  2. I know that Tesco runs a printer cartridge recycling program. You can pick up bags from tesco in which you can send your ink cartridges away where they will be recycled. If you have a clubcard I think you can receive clubcard points or have money donated to charity.

For more details (and information on the company that actually recycles the cartridges) go to the Tesco Clubcard website.

  3. I take my ink cartridges to Office Max.  They give me a credit off my next purchase for each cartridge I turn in.  My HP 2 ones get me $3 each!  Best Buy has a drop box by the door to place them in.  I would rather get the $$ for turning them in.  Every dollar helps at $3+ per gallon of gas!

  4. Try Freecycle website

  5. Hi,

The Snowdrop Trust based in Chichester collect used cartridges and recycle them to raise money for the charity.

    Hope this helps.

  6. Why not get money for them!! choicestationary.co.uk will give you a discount on all the spent cartridges you send from what you order from them then they recycle the spent ones! Best of both worlds. I use them and find them great quality and excellent service.

  7. Staoples thats where i go to give them my old ink cartridges and they recycle them and reuse them...i think its great!

  8. WHSmith has a service that takes empty inkjet cartridges.

Guide Dogs for the Blind takes them as well.

  9. I have seen a couple places before.  Sometimes you can call the Espon hotline and they will send you the envelope.

Also, check your post office. Mine has the envelopes for recycling not too far in the door which makes it so easy!

  10. catridge world

  11. A lot of schools run schemes where they collect the cartridges then send them off and get cash for them, or ask your local charity shops ie. PDSA, cancer relief etc.

  12. your local staples!
