Use this link to help you find your local recycling centre.

  2. The exact answer will depend on the recycling policy of your local council. Some can do more than others - this to a great extent is down to the commercial recycling facilities available in the area.

Many types of polymer cannot be recycled, in some cases because the item is composite material, ie made up of more one type of plastic. The most usual types that can be recycled are numbers 1, 2 and 3 - see base of item for the recycling logo with number inside. These are hard types of plastic, usually bottles of some sort: drinks, shampoo, handwash, etc. No aerosols though!

  3. if you mean those polyester boxes then no.

  4. your local tesco's x

  5. No Kathy. I don't believe they are recyclable. However, if you know anyone who has a hobby greenhouse, they are handy to use over again. Also, another handy use is as a paint mixing palette. I'm sure there are a lot of other uses. Put them in freecycle. Someone may want them. I use them under plants and as palettes.

  6. If you mean those polystyrene containers that a lot of meats come in, then no they are not recyclable... Unless you want to make something out of them yourself! I haven't heard of the place you live but if you have recycling bins then these are some recyclable items: plastic bottles, glass bottles (with out the lids though), aluminum, papers, cardboard, cartons, pet food cans, aerosol cans... But always rinse or wash before putting into the recycling bin!! That's all i can think of off the top of my head! At other places, such as some phone stores or appliance stores, you can also recycle mobile phones(cell phones), cartridges, old photo copy machines and so on!!

Check with your local council, they should be able to give you more information!! :-)

  7. Not sure about where you live but in DFW they go to the land fill

  8. There should be a list of what you can recycle and where on Barnet Councils website somewhere.
