Just had my son's 3rd birthday and have 2 black bags ful of wrapping paper. Seems a shame to throw it in the landfill- will the curbside recycling team take it??

  1. Why would you throw it away?  I have always kept it, flatten it out, or ironed it, and reused it........actually I have not purchased wrapping paper maybe 2 times in 10 years, I just recycle...........

cover it with a see thru cloth on the underside and use a low iron, comes out like new..............

  2. Yeah if you put it into the recycling bin!

  3. Most wrapping paper has too much ink to be recycled. I use old street maps to wrap my presents, because maps can't be recycled either.

  4. You might want to call your recycling authority to find out exactly.

There are tons of crafty projects you could use it for, even torn and crinkled.

    1. use patches of crinkled paper to make a collage by gluing on carboard.

    2. Decopauge the outside of a votive holder.

    3. In small quantities it can be cut in small strips or bits and included in homemade paper for texture.

  5. you should keep the wrapping paper and wrap gifts for other people and they will have to worry about getting rid of it :)

  6. I recycle nice wrapping paper in card making. Cut it into squares to glue onto the card to make a background for your message/design. It doesn't really matter if it's crushed - that just gives it more character, plus your shapes can be quite small. Ripped edges look really arty too!

Go on, find your creative side!

  7. Yea if you have them in the recycling bin. They'll have it all.
