OK, I'm in the schpp;s environmental group, and I'm sorta in the recycling group, and our school has NO recycling program whatsoever, but the problem is, we need a prgram that will be good for a three storey high school, that doesn't have lifts or anything, only stairs, This is an Aussie school, just in case that matters :P, Any suggestions well appreciated.

  1. This website has a special page for recycling in schools but check out the rest of the site too

    http://www.recyclenow.com/what_more_can_...

  2. Any action you take no matter how small is a step in the right direction. If every city and town could cut back 1% of their solid waste ouput that would be huge!

  3. Contact other schools and find out what they have done I'm sure they'd be more than willing to pass on info to you every little bit helps

  4. Last year I was a part of a marketing class at our community college. Our task was to create a marketing plan for the local solid waste authority which is county wide, including a city of about 35,000. We were also asked to come up with ideas for the schools. One of the most highly recommended sites  was a Minnesota site. The following web site has education kits available as well as information and ideas. http://www.recycleminnesota.org/htm/ReEd... It also features a program for young children.

Our project identified the need for increased awareness through education and early learning so habits could be instilled in children that would last into adulthood.

So many things are recyclable that people don't know about It is great that you want to improve or implement a recycling program in your school. Remember to start small and get adults on board. I hope this website has some ideas for you. The biggest enemy to recycling is human nature, people want it to be easy and convenient. I hope this has helped.

  5. Use those recyling bins maybe.

We have bins, just regular ones, everywhere in our shchool, ones for paper/food and stuff.

    Works well i think.
