  1. Why bother, the Mediterranean isn't full yet.

  2. Good question bearing in mind the English Hooligans will be coming to Athens for the May 23rd European Football Championship.  The English are the world's lager louts and they eat like pigs. So you better find the solution to your recycling problem urgently.

May suggest to reuse the lager bottles and cans, unwashed if possible, for the English hooligans!!  This would solve 90% of your recycling problems!!

Hope this helps and vote for it if this turns you on!!  I like Greeks!!

  3. dump all your recycling outside council/government offices, only joking - write to them then try the latter.

  4. You could write to your Member of Parliament, or equivalent, to show that there is a desire 'out there' to do the right thing with waste.  You could possibly suggest, in your letter, that if recycling is done correctly it will; provide another source to be taxed, help win their party votes, create employment in your area and help save the planet.  You will have to point these things out though, polititions aren't very smart.  Then get all your friends to do the same, it worked in my area, there are now recycle bins everywhere.  You could also look at what you buy, for example don't buy 'stuff' that cannot be recycled.  Try to only buy 'stuff' from your country or area; (this will help your local economy more than you can imagine) you're not really helping the environment if your food has had to be transported half way around the planet.  Look at the packaging of your food, for example, I no longer eat food from tins.  There are a lot of things that you can do even before the recycle bins arrive, but don't stop with your goals.

  5. Try to show the natural radiance of Greece. That's the only thing I can think of. Not only must you Recycle, but Reuse and use less than before.

  6. You've found a niche in the market, capitalise and make a fortune (whilst saving the world).

Aluminium cans make about US$1200 a tonne and PET about US$240 a tonne.

  7. try freecycling to start go to freecycle.org and see how its done

  8. do you have a bunch of cardboard boxes?? deliver them around your neighborhood and tell them to put recycable paper in the boxes.. and find out where all the paper can go after everyweek..

swtich your light bulbs to the CFL's so that they will save more energy...  umm..

DONT THROW AWAY YOUR PLASTIC BAGS!!

reuse them... and resuse plastic bottle containers...

  9. Isn't Greece part of the EU?  If so then your country would have to follow the minimum guide lines set forth by Brussels.
