Hi, Im doing a service project for school, and I was wondering if you could recycle batteries and make money off of them. Not money for myself, money to help stop pollution and global warming

  1. One way to make money would be to accept people's batteries and charge a disposal/service fee. You can ship large amounts at a time using part of the fees. The rest of the fee can be used to buy energy credits to offset the pollution caused by shipping. The challenge would be to keep the fee low but efficient.

This site helps explains battery disposal and recycling, it also has a link to facilities:

  2. You can recycle batteries, but I don't think you can get money back for them like cans and bottles.

Check out places like your Household Hazardous Waste Facility, some places that accept e-waste sometimes take batteries, check hardware stores, drug stores too.

  3. http://earth911.org/

is also a very user friendly link.  I also believe a "disposal/service" fee could be asked for, with any of the proceeds, above and beyond the necessary amount to cover expenses, being donated to http://www.savetherainforest.org/ ; http://www.cousteau.org/ ;  http://www.wwf.org/  ..  or any other worthy global cause.

  4. Yes you can! you can put them in the metal bins anywhere and leave it to the recycling centers.

But also you get these recharchable batteries which you can use and then charge again, then use. It goes on forever and is ok price! Have fun!
