Do you have to pull the labels off to put in the recycle pile for the truck?

  1. Not according to our recycling center.  Just toss them in.


  2. I too wash and remove the paper and then recycle it.  Two for the price of one!

  3. Just rinse the cans so that ants don't get into them.

  4. I do tend to remove labels but I don't think its strictly necessary. believe they disappear during heating in the recycling process.

  5. Where I take my cans I don't have to , but I do anyway as I put the labels (the paper ones) in the paper recycling.Otherwise,when the cans get melted for recycling the paper just goes up in flames.Wasted paper.

    As far as whether you have to remove them or not,that would be up to the company that picks up the cans from you.

  6. No, you could but they usually just come off when being recycled         .

  7. We recycle everything together it gets sorted at the recycling depot, similar to LA or San F. don't remember which. All plastics up to 7 all paper, all metal except for  beverage cans which go back to the store. Glass has to be taken to the depot  separately. Everything has to be clean

  8. They are made from two different alloys.  The less dense alloy floats to the top when melted and gets skimmed off.  Both alloys are then used to make new cans.

  9. NO,  Some people remove the tabs because they can give them to organizations that use the higher quality aluminum for special procedes, that the tabs are made of.
