Are you supposed to crush them and get all of the air out of them? I heard you were suppose to do this to save room in the trucks that come and pick up the bins in my neigborhood. are you suppose to do that?

  1. It doesn't really matter, the trucks that come pick them up will crush them once they pick up the trash.

I only crush them so that it's less bags for me to carry to the recycling center (and get paid!!)

  2. We should stop recycling these bottles before we have reused them for a couple years.

The water in them is nothing special, so refill them with safe tap water, recap them, and carry them with you. Don't have them recycled  every time you use them.

We have been using a bottle 2 - 3 years, not to save money, though we do that too.

Evian if you notice is naive spelled backwards.

  3. No, it doesn't matter.

The only time I can think of when it would matter is if you are using an automated recycling center such as those set up by RePlanet outside of Ralphs and Albertsons.  They don't accept crushed bottles.  Generally, though, the people to whom you turn in recyclables don't mind whether or not the bottles are crushed.

  4. You can do it but it's not required. They will sort and compress them at the waste collection site. The trucks always have plenty of room for all recyclables so it's not a capacity issue

  5. it makes no difference

  6. Hello

I am crushing Water Bottles/Plastic Cups/Plates etc and drop in Dust Bin.

Many Educated and decent looking persons are dropping Public places.

Many people driving throw Car and dropping Garbage on River and Sea.

I do not know why people are not understanding this.
