  1. i would also try talking to your apartment management folks and seeing if they can get a recycle bin for your apartment.  There is a huge movement in this direction and you may be surprised that this is something they will help with at least for papers and some numbered plastics that you would have to recycle without reimbursement.

  2. type in recycling and your city name into a search engine and you should be given some sites you can check to see if they take what you want to recycle.

If you mean newspaper, some places won't take it because it is already so recycled there isn't much use wasting the energy.

I like this kid's site because I found the most useful information there than on the usual adult sites.

I'm starting to recycle plastic and glass because you don't have to remove labels.  It's a hassle to drive to a bin (finally found one that's not always overflowing) so I'm going to pay the city about $7 a month to let me recycle.  They take only #1 and #2 plastics, so when the bins come, I'm going to have to resort everything.

Once I get the plastics and glass going, I'll add aluminum and steel cans.  We use Fancy Feast cat food and the food gets under the rim and is impossible to remove even after soaking or the dishwasher.  That's a problem I'm going to have to solve.

We already do batteries, cell phones, car batteries, motor oil.

Thanks for trying to recycle.  I think it really helps.

  3. Depending on where you live you might be able to find large yellow and green bins next to drug stores or in school parking lots.  You can put paper products in the bins to be recycled.  Or you could log on to your city's website or call your city ha;; and see where they have their recycling facility.

  4. You will have to drive to your nearest recycling center/compost station and drop it off.

Or sometimes you can take it to a school or grocery store that recycles.
