  1. No they are ewaste. Your local waste managment department should have a way to dispose of hazardous waste. Go to www.earth911.org to see if you can find a local ewaste facility.

Electronics of any sort as well as batteries should never go into a landfill.

  2. depends on what type of batteries but you can just throw them away if found useless or keep them for recycling.

  3. Batteries and electronics have toxic chemicals  in them like mercury and lead.   They should be taken to a household hazardous waste depot, you can find one in your area by looking googling your city and the words household hazardous waste depot.  Some stores will take them back for proper disposal, some Wal-Mart's are even taking them back for safe disposal.   You can always phone your local recycling center and ask them where you can take them for safe disposal.

  4. always best to call your local recycling bin provider to see what they accept for recycling they would be able to direct you to a electronics recyclers, batteries generally would go to a hazardous waste collection site.Always best to phone before placing questionable products into a recycling bin

  5. YOU SHOULD HAVE A HOUSEHOLD HAZARD WASTE FACILITY WHERE YOU LIVE TO DISPOSE OF THESE ITEMS. THESE ITEMS ARE NOT RECYCLE ABLE.

  6. I put my electronics in the recycling in hope that the persons at the other end know what to do with them.
