ok about 2 years ago i got both of my cartilage piercings done @ claires. everything was fine until one day my right one got infected. it was red, swollen, & discharge was coming out. so my mom removed the piercing. so about 2 weeks ago i decided to try & get it pierced again. about 4 days after i got it done, it swelled up a little & started throbbing. i cleaned it really good w/ the ear cleaning solution. & it went back down to normal. so 2 days ago, it swelled up AGAIN but this time its more swollen. & it hurts to the touch. i clean it twice a day, i dont sleep on it, & i dont touch it unless i clean it. so wat i wanna know is: is it infected, even though there's no discharge? is there anything i can do help it? or is it just that this isnt meant to be pierced?

  1. it could be that u can only wear gold or silver because if u r cleaning it twice a day it cant be an infection more like an allergy

  2. it maybe your ear ring. you also developed scar tissue from the first piercing, witch is going to make this healing process more painful. i want to know why did you go to Claire's for a cartilage piercing? it needs to be done with a hollow needle, which is at a professional shop. if it starts to swell and it forms a "volcano" around the ring, take it out, its healing poorly, and its telling you that there is to much skin there. At Claire's they take a pusher... and push the ear ring into your ear, moving skin around the ring, this can be bad for scar tissue, and for your healing process. at least when you get cartilage  pierced at a shop, the needle takes the right amount of skin away, leaving a perfect hole for your ring.

this is not a must, Claire's is a great cheap place, it will just hurt a little more and heal a little longer. any problems, email me

  3. I think the problem is that you got it done with a piercing gun. That can be very damaging to a cartilage piercing. If I were you I would take it out and let it heal for a few months. Then go to a professional body piercer where the needle will not put on as much pressure as the gun. The gun really is just strictly for earlobes.

  4. i have mine done and it got infected...i went to the doctor and he gave me antibiotics and 6 days later i put the earing back in and its hasnt given me problems ever since..

    GO TO A DOCTOR!!!

good luck and hope this helps
