Red Alert 2 LAN Help?

Question

I want to play on LAN against someone on another computer in a different room. We have the same version (1.0006). But when i create a game, the other person can't "see" it to join.

Please help, i really want to play Red Alert and i can't.

If you could give me step-by-step instructions, it would be really great. (I'm fairly rubbish at computers so easy instructions would be really helpful).

P.S. Does it matter that i'm using Command and Conquer The First Decade and the other person's just using Command and Conquer.

It might matter that you are using different versions.

Are the 2 computers connected? You need a router where both computers are connected. If both have wireless, you can make an ad-hoc network. Turn off the firewall.
