Red Bull Drivers resolve their disputes before Canadian Grand Prix
Finally they act like good team mates or may be more like good friends. Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel buried the devil right in its bud to avoid any mighty quarrels, as both the drivers came out of the Red Bull team’s headquarters in Milton. After the summit meeting held there on Thursday, the two-some had already vowed to give a new start to their team leaving the last week’s event behind.
Last week at the Turkish Grand Prix the Red Bulls crashed into each other, as Vettel drove into Webber, while he was almost ready to embrace his third consecutive grand-prix victory and make his Formula One World Championship more secure. Owing to the crash Vettel went off the circuit and retired, while Webber ultimately finished at the third place. Their crash ended in the fortunate victory of the McLaren team, with Lewis Hamilton at the first place for the first time this season and Jenson Button at the second.
However, Webber immediately after the race pointed out at Vettel for being responsible for the accident due to his poor driving. On the other hand while Vettel came out from the cockpit of his smashed car in full rage, he pointed his finger at Webber to show his madness at him.
Since then, the blame game kept catching flames all around Formula One. The high flames of the quarrel wrapped not only the two drivers but also Helmut Marko, the racing consultant for Red Bull. However, Marko along with the Red Bull team laid the blame quite openly at Webber’s end.
The Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, has proved wise enough to sense that the argument must not be allowed to keep growing. With the Canadian Grand Prix right ahead, he summoned all parties into the team’s headquarters.
The two drivers, Marko and Adrian Newey, the team’s chief technical officer, were all seated around the table. Theses all men have together masterminded the Red Bull’s fast and furious cars that have made the team rise to the top of Formula One competing the oldest of the manufacturers.
The meeting ended at the happy note of forgiving and forgetting as Vettel asked for an apology and Webber agreed to burry all differences to move ahead for the next Grand prix and ultimately towards winning the World Championship.
Vettel told after the meeting that the team had been a great help to overcome the bad patch that sadly ever came up. He told that he was sorry for what they lost the lead of the race because of the crash. He said that at the end of the day, it is important to realise that they are both racers and are moving ahead for winning. He was glad that both of them had acted professionally and that the event had not changed the way they worked together to move forward in their career goals. He concluded that they all together made a great team and their spirit is high and as young as ever as they move towards Canada.
Despite the fact that the crash took away the first position from Webber, yet he stands tall with still the highest points for the World Championship and his confidence appears unshaken at all. The outcome of all that has taken place at the race and in the following days justifies Webber’s position all itself, as many believe that he did not do any wrong apart from being in the competition in its true sense as Vettel attempted to pass him at Istanbul Park.
So, here is the Red Bull again all determined and cheerful standing all the odds, with their confidence and zeal at its peak ready to take off for the Canadian Grand Prix.
