Red Bull Puts Aside All Disputes As It Heads Forward
The worst scandalous furore of the season though has passed away but some smouldering is still visible which Mark Webber is trying to put off. The Red Bull driver, Webber had shown a lot of aggression last week at the British Grand Prix which turned out to be the most heated issue of the 2010 season so far.
Now that a week has already passed the driver said that he is a man who wears his heart on his sleeve and could not keep things in his heart. He told that it is hard for him to keep his emotions enclosed in his heart and last week he happened to do such a thing for which now he feels sad as he said too much.
As Webber grabbed the victory at the Silverstone race last Sunday the words, “Not bad for a number two drive” slipped off his mouth which caught the attention of the media as well as the race fans from around the world.
With this he referred to the incident that took place the prior day when Sebastian Vettel, his teammate was given the new wing of Webber’s car as the former had his damaged. It was taken as a very offensive thing by the Australian driver who was not shy to portray his anger and disappointment for the team.
Only a few days after the race the team Principal, Christian Horner had a ‘clear the air’ discussion with the driver and thus the matter resolved between the team and the driver. Now as they move towards the next destination of the Formula One caravan, Webber says that he feels bad for all he thought and said about the team. He admitted that he had always been the type of a person who brings things out of his heart but after this incident he wishes badly that he would not have said all that.
Explaining the entire situation he said that the team made a very tricky decision and he admitted that he was disappointed at that time. Though, now he has understood that teams come across such situations where such decisions have to be taken. As per Webber, he completely values the decision now that was taken for the benefit of the team, as Vettel then stood at a better place in the points’ tally. Webber further added that now it was him who stands at a better place and he hopes to see such a logic followed if there is a need in the future.
Currently the two team drivers stand with just a difference of seven points following the two McLaren drivers who had been able to occupy the first and second places. The charts are conquered by the McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton with a total of one hundred and forty five points followed by his teammate Jenson Button with one hundred and thirty three points. Webber and his team mate Vettel had been so far able to bag one hundred and twenty eight and one hundred and twenty one points respectively.
Both the red Bull drivers are intent to lead the tally as soon as possible. Webber commented about the situation telling that we are both chasing the same goal and at this place it could not be said that, ‘It’s fine, mate, I don’t really care’, rather he said that we are both passionate and we know that the next few races are really important. He further went on telling that they both are not the best of mates because they are rivals as well; however he said that the two are not enemies either as they spend a lot of time together.
Well, apparently things are much better between the two and as they move ahead for the German Grand Prix, to be held at the end of this week Red Bull seems to put aside all the disputes and move forward in full confidence and team spirit.
