Red Bull Racing Team confirms its 2011 car launch on the 1st of February
Red Bull Racing Team recently confirmed that they will reveal their 2011 Formula 1 car which is going to be called the RB7 at the first pre-season test session that is expected to take place in Valencia.
It was recently revealed that most of the Formula 1 teams are going to launch their new cars at the first pre-season test session that is going to take place on the 1st of February. These teams included Williams, Sauber and Mercedes. Ferrari revealed
that they are going to launch their new car on the 28th of January at their annual media event “Wrooom” and after that, there were rumours that Red Bull Racing Team will reveal its car in Valencia.
McLaren and a few other teams including Virgin, HRT and Force India are going to reveal their cars after the first pre-season test session. McLaren revealed that they will launch their new car on the 4th of February, that is after the end of the
Valencia test sessions.
Red Bull secured its first championship in 2010 after an exhilarating and dramatic 2010 Formula 1 season. The team secured both constructors’ and drivers’ titles and one has to admit, the RB6 was the fastest and most consistent car throughout the season.
Sebastian Vettel snatched the drivers’ standing’s lead at the very last race in Abu Dhabi and won the championship by just 4 points over the eventual 2nd place, and the strongest contender for the title before the race, Fernando Alonso. The grand
finale at the Yas Marina circuit was quite dramatic as there were 4 competitors for the title until then.
Nevertheless, Red Bull is hoping for similar results in 2011 as well and they believe that they will produce a consistent and fast car once again. Ferrari, McLaren and surprisingly, Team Mercedes are also satisfied with their respective packages.
It would be interesting to see how the top team's cars differ from each other. The first pre-season test session will matter a lot since the team’s will get their hands on the new Pirelli tyres for the first time.
