Red Bull Racing Team expected to make “significant improvement” before Chinese Grand Prix
Red Bull Racing Team has recently announced that they are hoping to make some “significant improvements” to their new car for the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix.
The team is hoping to increase its lead and take an advantage over its rivals.
The reigning world champion, Sebastian Vettel, has given a perfect performance up until now, as he has scored 2 pole positions followed by 2 back-to-back victories in the first 2 races of this season.
As a result, he is currently 24 points ahead of his closest rival Jenson Button and is hoping to increase this lead even more with each coming race.
This statement seems like an answer to both McLaren and Ferrari’s announcement, as both of the teams revealed that they are going to apply some upgrades to their respective cars as well before the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix.
Red Bull’s consultant, Helmut Marko, has stated that the team is not going to take any time off and they are going to work even harder in order to boost their car’s performance despite the advantage the team currently has over the rest of its rivals.
“Yes, we are currently ahead of the others, but they are moving quickly and things could be different very soon. That's what we have to avoid. We will introduce a significant improvement in China”, Helmut told the media.
However, he did not reveal what the upgrade is but added that it is necessary to apply it because each of its rivals are progressing and in order to keep an advantageous difference over them, Red Bull will have to be one step ahead them.
“Last year it was Vettel struggling in the first two races, as fortune can be cruel. I would say that Sebastian's misfortune at the beginning of 2010 was worse than it has been for Mark Webber this season”, said Marko.
However, the team’s boss, Christian Horner, recently praised Mark Webber’s performance at the Chinese Grand Prix and expected both of his drivers to perform at their best at the upcoming race at Shanghai International circuit.
