Red Bull Racing Team’s Mark Webber does not plan to retire after 2011 Formula 1 season
Red Bull Racing Team’s Mark Webber has recently stated that he does not plan to retire from Formula 1 after the 2011 season and he is considering his future with his team in 2012 as well.
His teammate, the 2010 Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel has recently signed a long-term contract with Red Bull Racing Team that is going to stay in effect until the end of the 2014 season while Mark is on a year-by-year contract with the team.
Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner also stated recently that he is looking for a “proof” of Mark’s motivation and devotion for the sport this year before discussing the team’s deal with him further on.
“It's not like I'd been struggling for motivation, don't get me wrong, but it was a long year last year. If I can be hungry and have the desire, still want to compete, and turn up and take these guys on week in, week out - yeah [I'll carry on in 2012],”
said Mark.
Especially since Adrian Newey and a number of other members of the team have secured their futures with Red Bull Racing Team, Webber’s drive has returned as well.
The Aussie believes that the team has never been in a better position before the beginning of a season than it is in 2011 as the team came up with some impressive ideas for its new car’s development process during the winters.
The team’s new car, the RB7 has an impressive mileage both in short and long runs but Mark still admitted that the season opening race in Australia is going to be quite unpredictable mainly because of the new tyres and the mixed weather conditions at the
Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne. The first race of the 2011 Formula 1 season is scheduled to take place on 27 March, 2011.
“I hope I can improve my luck there, as it hasn't been incredible since my first GP in 02. I hope I can get my best result and there's every indication we can do that,” he added.
This is the first time in 40 years that 5 champions are going to drive alongside each other on the same grid and since each of them has a reliable and fast car, it is probably going to be one of the most exhilarating and dramatic seasons in the history of
the sport.
